For the past few entries we have gone over the DECIDE problem solving process. The roadblocks listed below are ones that you or your teen may use or may have used in the past when attempting to problem solve.  The key  here is to recognize  the ones that are used.  Figure out why it’s being used,. Not adequately defining problem

Not clear on desired outcome

Being judgmental

Skipping steps in the process

Fear

Procrastination

Lack of resources

Difficulty dealing with criticism

Negative attitude

Blaming others

No action plan

* Parents are not the only ones who hover!   Parental hovering is defined as waiting nearby or lingering.  Something teens love for their parents to do!

For teens hovering is defined as drifting or moving aimlessly.
